What is conflict resolution coaching?
Conflict coaching is a one-on-one process for helping individuals improve their conflict understanding and skills to manage conflict and disputes more effectively. Our consultants will work with you to assist you in your conflict management and in generating creative resolutions to your conflict. Conflict coaching is a one-on-one process between you and your consultant. This is not therapy.
What is Mediation?
Mediation is often called "facilitated negotiation." It is an opportunity for two parties to sit down and work with an objective third party to find a resolution that both parties can live with. The mediator helps guide the parties through the rocky road of negotiation and resolution. The parties maintain total control of the process, the mediator is strictly there to help facilitate the resolution process.
How can conflict resolution coaching help me?
Conflict resolution coaching will help you to examine the interests of all the people involved in your conflict, as well as how you handle/approach conflict. When these interests have been examined, you and your consultant will work together to discover a potential resolution for your conflict, as well as techniques to approach, negotiate, and manage your conflict.
What will I get out of conflict resolution coaching?
Our trained conflict resolution consultants will provide you with expert resolution techniques. You will learn how you handle conflict as well as new communication skills, negotiation tips, and approaches to conflict. Further, by discussing your conflict with the goal of future resolution, we will provide you with a plan to address and manage your conflict.
Is this therapy?
Our consultants are trained in conflict resolution. We are not therapists, nor do we provide any therapeutic advice. We are happy to provide referrals to counseling or therapeutic services if you would like further information or additional resources.
What do I need to do to participate effectively?
After you purchase a session, Conflict Boss will email you a form that asks you to describe your conflict in as much detail as possible, as well as your expectations of the session. To participate effectively, you must be honest with yourself, listen well, and be willing to creatively look at resolutions. Our consultants are here to help you and can offer you an objective viewpoint. Please keep that in mind and sign on, ready and willing to work towards resolving your dispute.
How much control do I have over the process?
You are in complete control both in conflict coaching and mediation. Our sessions are voluntary. While we have designed a method that allows us to cover a lot of ground in a small amount of time, you still have control over where the session goes. We are here to guide you in the resolution of your conflicts. You are free to terminate the session at any time.
What happens when coaching is over?
When your session ends, our consultants will follow up with you via email. This email will contain a summary of the key points you discussed during your session as well as some conflict resolution tips and tricks. The email will also include an evaluation form for you to fill out with your thoughts and comments regarding the session.
Is it confidential?
All mediations and conflict coaching sessions are confidential aside from the rules that a mandatory reporter must follow. This includes such areas as imminent threat of harm to another and child abuse. Please see our Confidentiality Policy. It is of the utmost importance to Conflict Boss to maintain confidentiality in all matters regarding our client relationships. We will not share your names, contact information, or any information discussed during the session.
